
Mango Lassi Recipe
and Other Beverages
Beverages are a wonderful part of the Indian cuisine. Here are is a
mango Lassi recipe and links to other recipes which refresh, whet one's
appetite or make a perfect finish to the perfect meal. This drink is
very nice as an appetizer. The tang of the yoghurt offsets the
sweetness of the mango beautifully.
Ingredients:
1 cup plain yoghurt
1/2 of a medium ripe mango, diced
2 Tablespoons sugar
8 ice cubes
Combine all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. To take out any
lumps, put through a strainer, pushing out the liquid as you can.
Note:
Mangoes: Select a ripe mango for this
mango lassi
recipe. I have found it best to slice down one side of the mango, just
next the large seed. Cut a crosshatch pattern on the slice and slice
off the pieces from the skin. Also, you can use mango puree instead of
fresh.
To increase or decrease the thickness of the lassi, adjust the amount
of ice used.
